On August 3rd Lance and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary.
We spent the weekend in Orlando. It was amazing. It is hard to explain why exactly. We did absolutely nothing of note. No theme parks-- no beaches. But we did whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted. Again, it was amazing. Those of you with multiple kids can appreciate this concept.
It was so so fun. We used Priceline and snagged a suite at the Hyatt for $40! It was in the middle of a stretch of malls, theaters, restaurants, and souvenir shops. We were able to walk everywhere. We spent so much time just talking-- without the usual interruptions of "I'm thirsty" and "Mama!"
There are not many pictures, as it was only the two of us, but here are a few poorly photographed pictures:
Me fighting with Bella for the love of Edward Cullen.
And Lance biting his lip in anticipation of the upcoming High School Musical 3
Lance with the "Def Leppard Rules" ping pong paddle from Balls of Fury (a ridiculous movie) at Planet Hollywood.
Out to dinner and mastering the art of the one handed picture
It was the break we needed. Again, amazing.

7 Amazing Years

MIA
I pride myself on updating my blog at least weekly. However, due to the HORRENDOUS customer service at Verizon Fios, we have been without our internet for a week.
I can't believe how much I rely on the internet. I felt impotent and out of control (its a line from "Clueless") without my laptop. Bank accounts, email, paying bills, blogs, etc... I was at a loss!
Lance was just released from his church calling in the Elder's Quorum Presidency and is now the Executive Secretary. Poor guy was trying to schedule appointments without the use of his Google calendar and email.
I will not regale everyone with tales of the many hours of phone calls and the tears of frustration that were shed due to this inconvenience. I will only focus on the fact that I am back on my blog!
Its okay if you didn't even notice my absence.... just pretend.

The Mormon Version of "The Morning After"

You know you had a great time last night when you awake to a dozen pop cans and 2 empty Krispy Kreme boxes littering your kitchen and living room...
We hosted UFC Fight Night last night and had a blast.

Memories
I thought I'd give this a shot-- there's nothing like reminiscing...
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next (if you choose to), re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.
It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

A Few of My Favorite Things
Dogs are, by their very nature, smelly creatures. Children, I have discovered, are no different. I have two of each-- so I take the smellification process in my home very seriously.
My pug, George, has upped it a few notches in the odor department as of late. The kids and I had fun giving him a bath yesterday (something we usually leave to the professionals). But all this did was make my house smell like a wet dog... for a day and a half.
Whenever catastrophes of this nature occur, I turn to a few of my favorite things.
Febreze-- I have every variety imaginable. Febreze for pet odor, Febreze for the car, Febreze candles. But my all time favorite is Lavender Vanilla Febreze. I buy the biggest bottle they have and I usually go overboard and use it on every stationary thing in the house. The big bottle is almost always gone by week's end.
Which brings me to my second favorite thing: Scentsy candle warmers. This is such a great concept. I used to have dozens of plug-in candle warmers, but I would always spill and get wax everywhere. Enter Scentsy products. My new favorite discovery: Scensty carries a Lavender Vanilla scent that is identical to Febreze.
Needless to say, the wet dog stench in my home has been replaced by Lavendar Vanilla-- in spades.

Zoie Versace
Zoie and I have many battles... many, many battles. One I choose not to fight is her wardrobe. She is old enough to dress herself and as long as we are not going out in public, I do not censure her appearance. It is hilarious to see the outfits this kid comes up with.
Case in point-- a ballerina outifit that she outgrew last year with pink tennis shoes and 3 ponytails on her head.

Happy Birthday Kira
- I dragged Lance to the water park-- where we managed to hit every waterslide in the park in under an hour.
- We barbecued with friends and had a girls' "Dessert Night Out"
- Lance and I went to my favorite restaurant, Cheesecake Factory and gorged ourselves on Avocado Eggrolls, Baja Chicken Tacos, and Snicker's Cheesecake
- We saw The Hulk-- great movie. Edward Norton is always amazing
- We spent hours playing our friends' Wii-- I set a record for the most home runs
- Jen, Heidi, and I hit the beach-- my first "kidless" beach outing in a LOOOONG time
I got some fantastic gifts. But I have to give serious props to my friend Catie for getting me the most creative gift-- an ant farm!! I don't think I have ever laughed so hard after opening a package. This is a gift the entire family is excited about!
