One the hardest parts of moving was saying goodbye to an old friend-- Buford.
True, we only moved 15 minutes away, but alas, it was too great a distance for Buford.
We bought Buford in 2007 when I was pregnant with Tobin. I had the worst heartburn and was thrilled to have a HUGE, comfortable chair that, when reclined, was practically a bed. It didn't take long for Buford to become "my chair".
Buford was where I would nurse new babies, take naps, read, watch tv, do homework-- pretty much anything that can be done in a seated position.
Because he was "used" so well-- he began to age quickly. Lance and I began to have regular conversations about getting rid of him. I managed to put Lance off for years-- he was ready to kick Buford out of the house long ago. But as of the past year, it took herculean effort to "un-recline" Buford. He was impossibly broken.
And so, we said goodbye. He was a great chair. He is already sorely missed (by me-- not Lance). Farewell old friend. I am sure that you are making someone else very comfortable.

Ooh, I always wanted one of those big, padded recliners but have never had room for one. I'll miss Buford for you.
That was one big, comfy chair. True, it didn't age well, but I would take incomparable comfort over beauty any day, unless we are talking shoes.....
I never realized Buford was a Muppett! Did you get a new one with the move?
remember when you lived with me and we had a living room full of only recliners... haha!
