Kira Ann Rasmussen

I blog-stalk. One thing I hate is when I come across a blog and there is no info or pictures about the author of the blog. How am I supposed to judge them based on appearances? (kinda kidding about that one...)

Mine is such a blog. So here is a reminder about me-- in the event that my readers (my mom and my sister) forgot.

This is Me:
And this is who I am:

  • I don't care for fruit-- particularly warm fruit (apple pie, peach cobbler, etc.) If you are going to pass a dish off as a dessert, chocolate needs to be the main ingredient! (Except for you, banana).
  • I am afraid of the dark-- because of ghosts, not bad guys.
  • I don't consider myself fully dressed for the day until I am wearing ridiculously large earrings.
  • I have read almost every single James Patterson book ever written.
  • I love television.
  • I pray constantly.
  • I am always in the mood for cereal, microwave popcorn, and chips and salsa.
  • I only work out and diet because I have to.
  • I have no tolerance for people who can't laugh at themselves.
  • I will kick your butt at Seinfeld trivia.
  • I almost never cry at sad movies. My husband calls me a heartless robot.
  • I love eating out-- this includes fast food. To quote a friend, "I don't eat McDonalds because its cheap and convenient. I eat it because its GOOD!"
  • I am very easy-going, but over particular issues I can be the most stubborn person you have ever met.
  • I only have a few close friends, but I am like the mob. Once you get in my inner circle, it is nearly impossible to get out.
  • I am extremely punctual.
  • If it were socially acceptable (and sanitary) I would never wear shoes.
  • I am a natural born slob, but hate clutter.
  • I have a degree in History Teaching-- but once argued that Thomas Jefferson was never a U.S. President.
  • I love my husband more than anything in the world.
  • I love my 3 kids almost as much as my husband.
  • I have a very high self-esteem-- with no real talents or positive attributes to back it up.
  • I love to sing. If I could have any voice, I would sing like Karen Carpenter.
  • I am never lonely. I love "alone time" and can spend hours alone with my thoughts and not get bored. Lance says I tend to drift off into "Kira Land".
  • I hate talking on the phone... hate it.
  • I will not tolerate being tickled. Its not cute and funny-- just annoying and infuriating.
  • I have always wanted to ride in a motorcycle side car.
That is more than most people ever wanted to know...

Bundle of Joy

Introducing the newest (and on some days, my favorite) member of the family:

I can't tell you just how amazing it is to be able to vacuum, mop, sanitize and disinfect over 1500 sq. feet of tile and laminate in just a few minutes (particularly when it includes the bathroom floor belonging to three small children)!

I am definitely in love...

"Army Had a Half Day"

(The title is a Buster Bluth quote from Arrested Development)

This week we made good use of the half day at Zoie's school and met some friends at Busch Gardens. I know I post Busch Gardens pictures ad nauseum, but I came across some funny ones today.

Chase on the Ferris Wheel. He was acting all cool and nonchalant-- but look at how tight he is gripping the seat belt once the car starts moving (2nd picture). Your secret is out, Chase...Zoie and her friend Kaylee rode the Air Grover rollercoaster nine times in the course of a few hours. By the end of the day, the workers were using their first names.

These next pictures are my favorite of the day. Tobin is not quite tall enough to ride the coaster without an adult, so I had to ride with him. He has such an expressive face that I decided to take pictures of him during the ride. Hilarious.

A few more notable pictures...

Farewell Jack

Lance and I finally finished the last season of 24.

It was a good time for the show to end. There can only be so many nuclear threats, corrupt presidents, moles within CTU, evil Russians, weaponized viruses, and ugly women for Jack to fall in love with. Even now, the seasons are all blended together in my head.

But we will miss Jack. We miss Tony and President Palmer. We miss the anticipation. Even though the events of various seasons became redundant, Jack was never predictable. Who would have guessed that Kiefer Sutherland could be such a bad-a#*???

Although various networks have tried, there just hasn't been another show like 24. There were some episodes that were so intense they literally had me on the edge of my chair, breaking a sweat.

If you haven't seen the show (and you have a tolerance for violence), rent it! You will not be sorry. This is one show that totally lived up to the hype.
